Lord Jesus, I come before you to ask for your manifest presence today in the Camp.  For the graduation service and board meeting.  Help me Savior to be led by your spirit. I love you Lord.

My Son, I await your coming to be with me.  I have so much I want to teach you but you give me so little of your time.  Your physical infirmities were meant to enrich your life but you have not responded the way I want you to.  Set your heart to seek my face.  Look beyond the present to eternity and then ask for things that will have eternal meaning.  I have given you the attention of world leaders.  Serve them and bind your heart to them and I will spread Dunklin around the world.  The next generation will fulfill the destiny for the Camp but you have to be an important part in what I have yet for you to do.  Practice the health things I have given you.  Start writing the books and I will restore your health.  I love you my dear son.  Do not forget this for one moment.  You are a much beloved son.

7/26/2000

Lord, I have finally arrived at a retreat to seek your face and to hear your word. My mind is still spinning from busyness but I am trying to settle down and focus on you.   Where do you want me to start?

My son I have blessed you with great favor with many people.  Your retreat is part of my blessing.  I have blessed you to see the beauty of my nature.  Each plant and animal is perfectly fitted for its environment.  Only mankind has failed to fulfill my intended purpose.  Your time on earth is finishing but I will let you live to see the fulfillment of the visions I have put in your heart.  Because you have not sought fame and fortune for yourself, I will prosper the ministries I put in your heart.  I will bring your family into my kingdom as I have promised you.  Rest in my arms until your soul is refreshed then I will help you write the manuals.  Remember Mickey, I am your father and I love you.  I have chosen you as I choose Dunklin to build bridges to people in bondage.  My presence is upon you and I will enjoy the retreat with you.

from Dad's Journal

In a lot of dad's journals, there is no clear entry date. Some don't even have a year noted, but this one does. Dad would schedule time to get away by himself in the woods, sometimes for weeks. Several friends were very gracious to offer their camphouse or trailer for him to use. Either he needed to recharge his batteries or he needed to work on writing something and for this he had to break away from the distractions or just the business of doing good works. In this way, dad reminded me of Jesus. He also would often retreat by himself to be alone with the Father.
But He Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray. ( Luke 5:16)

Lord Jesus, I open my heart to you. How can I please you the most?

My son it pleases me the most when you pray and listen so that we can have conversation with each other. Through this communion I will renew your mind and give direction for the future. Do not worry about the manuals. Read my word and books that feed your soul. When you are ready I will baptize you again in my Spirit and you will write under my inspiration. Be patient and continue to walk with me. I hear your prayer's in both languages. When you sing in the Spirit, my angels sing with you and it brings pleasure to my heart when my creation fulfills the purpose that I created them for. I am pleased my son when you come to spend time with me alone. I love you more, much more, than you are capable of understanding until you get to heaven. ==============================================================================================

Postscript from dean: I bet dad fully understands that love now! Merry Christmas dad. Happy Birthday Jesus.

New Blog

This week I brought back with me just a few of dad's journals that he had written over the years. Hard to know just yet how many he has written as they are scattered between his bedroom and office at the pole barn. But, journaling was one of the most important things that he did and taught others to do. It was critical to a man's recovery as he went through Dunklin's regen. program. He believed that learning to hear from God and having a conversation with the almighty creator was the second most important thing in anyone's life after accepting God's gift of eternal life through belief in His son, Jesus Christ. I can speak firsthand of what a powerful tool this can be in a daily walk with the Lord. I can also speak of how disoriented and lost one can be when you fail to live a life of constant communion with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The journal is a tool to help focus the mind, body and spirit and be at a place where you can hear his voice. It can help you get off the merry go round in your brain that seems to spin faster and faster as life continues to fly by at ever increasing speed. I wish I could say I was consistent with my journaling. I have not been. I could give all the same reasons anybody can give as to why I haven't. I do know though, that God is always calling me to spend time with him, and way to often, I get distracted. But there is something in my heart that says to start again and use exerpts from dad's journals to receive encouragement and give encouragement. So, here goes.
